With a live band that includes members of Saltwater Sun and Black Honey, which have performed at Glastonbury, Pennfest and many more in recent years, production duo Twin Sun recently returned with their stellar remix of Zoot Woman’s ‘Where Is The Man’.
Channelling the bright and euphoric indie-dance aesthetic of acts like Friendly Fires and Passion Pit, the pair’s latest offering has been surging across Spotify since its release. Filled with breezy synths, an undeniable hook and truly catchy choruses, this is one made for the summer season.
So with their new release available now, we sat down with them to discuss the remix and what they have planned for us in the future.

Chris) Hi guys, how are you today?
Twin Sun) Very good thanks. We’re in the studio together today, which is definitely our favourite place these days!
Who would you say have been your biggest influences so far?
Our main influences range from West Coast melodic rock music such as Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac to nineties electronic acts including Orbital and Aphex Twin via the French Touch of Alan Braxe & Fred Falke and newer acts such as Flight Facilities and Todd Terje. And that’s just for starters.
You have just released a new remix of Zoot Woman’s ‘Where Is The Man’. Can you tell us how that came about?
Last summer, Zoot Woman played their first UK show for nearly ten years at a festival I (Pete) do the bookings/programming for (Readipop Festival) so I got to know Adam and Johnny a little through that. When they released “Where Is The Man” last Autumn, Jamie and I both really liked it and felt we could give a nice Twin Sun twist to it with a remix. The Zoot Woman guys were up for it and sent over the stems, then when lockdown kicked in we put our heads together (via Zoom) and came up with the version that’s out now.
And are you pleased with how it turned out?
Yeah, it was great track to work with and the enthusiasm of the Zoot Woman guys towards the early version of our remix really drove us to get it sounding big. We’ve been big fans of their music since their first two albums on Wall Of Sound so were really chuffed to get their seal of approval and get a proper release with them.
Do you have any plans to release an EP or even album in the near future?
We’ve been working on all sorts over the last few months, especially remixes and edits of tracks so we have plenty to play out when we go back to DJing in the real world again (although plenty have made appearances in our virtual DJ sets we’ve played online over the summer). Beyond that, we’re planning to do more collaborations on original tracks and have more of our own tracks out later this year.
Coronavirus has obviously stopped the live shows for the moment, but what about your plans for the rest of the year?
Definitely to keep making plenty of music together until we get the opportunity to share it in public again!
And finally, what would be your dream ambition as artists?
Glastonbury Festival is where we decided to form Twin Sun back in 2015 and a very special place for us both. We’ve been lucky enough to play several sets there (including probably our all-time favourite Twin Sun DJ set in The Rocket Lounge in Shangri-La for Bugged Out in 2017) and we’d love us to return for an even bigger knees-up there soon!
