The excellent Polish-based band Snakedoctors released their latest track 'Got Him Another Girl' on 30 November, which is also featured on the band's album 'Mellow Joy'. I'm glad I could interview Snakedoctors and find out a lot of interesting things about their work as well as themselves. If you are interested in rock and roll music, 50's/early 60's rock meets post-punk or garage rock then you definitely won't be disappointed. One interesting fact is that the video for 'Got Him Another Girl' was made in Indonesia. Feel free to take a look at the interview.

Kamil) Hey Snakedoctors, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What strengths do you have that you believe make you a great musician?
Not sure if we’re exactly great:) But back to the point - firstly, we’re good friends so we understand each other right away while playing music and… we have a great load of fun doing music. Secondly - we share similar music tastes so it’s easy to come up with music that we all like. What is not shared blends in and makes it even more interesting. At least for us.
What first got you into music?
It’s four of us - so it’s different things apart from music itself that we all love and have passion for. One of us joined a guitar class as a kid because the girl teaching it was incredibly pretty. Another one got his instrument from his dad with emphasis on getting into it really seroious, another one always wanted to play his instrument but didn’t have much opportunity to do so and the last one played his instrument in private at home and then it turned out that his friends had a band and needed someone with his skill. Previous bands - too long of the stories to tell about it here:)
Your latest track is 'Got Him Another Girl'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
After first two albums we wanted to keep our style but also go into more simple rock and roll. So this is a post-punk song on one hand and then simple 50’s and early 60’s style one. Pure and simple. The lyrics are just life - the guy who cares a lot and a girl who doesn’t want to notice that. When she does - he’s got already a new girlfriend. Such things happen. When doing live shows this is usually our last song when we greet, appreciate and say goodbye to those who arrived.
Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?
Not superb expectations. Simply writing more music, doing live shows and recording. Still the same four friends doing things we like so much. One of us already played in US bands during his college years so we’re aware what to avoid and stay away from. And that we expect only expectable.
What would you say is your greatest strength as a band?
We are very spontaneous. We come up with new ideas for songs on daily basis. The same with recording them. We’ve known each other for years so we understand and get everything just like that. Actually we record most of our stuff at… one take:)
What is your proudest accomplishment as a band?
Number ones and songs that charted are great but what makes us proud is - when random people we don’t know or who didn’t get to see us live get in touch with us saying that they like the music!
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Simply one of the things we do normally - we all have many hobbies - of which most we share and also do other things in life - which we usually share too. So, basically we would probably do the same things… but soon or later we would come up with the band thing anyways;)
Tell me about your top performances.
As far as live shows go… we’ve been around only for 1.5 years so we did get to play gigs but sure we would love to play more. We had a few offers to play shows in Germany and in the UK but with that pandemic… it’s all complicated. The same with local shows. We liked all our shows but the one we played with metal bands was a challenge. We did good though.
What's the best piece of advice another musician ever gave you?
Never give up. This is not an easy job as everything around is already settled. But if you carry on and keep you r expectations on right level… it’s got a chance to work out. Do not compromise your music taste, be yourselves and enjoy what you’re doing. And maintain some backup income source. Just in case.
What are your plans for next year? Do you have any productions ready to be released?
More gigs and more releases. We already recorded music for our fourth and fifth albums. All that in 1.5 years. So also more recording. But mostly and firstly - still having fun doing music and spending time together.
