Brandon Grant is a Cape Town-based singer-songwriter and live looping artist known for his authentic, relatable, and vulnerable indie folk sound with a contemporary soul edge — and on his latest single, “Knowing”, he presents a breath of fresh air with his soulful vocals, while the gentle sweeping acoustic guitars form the perfect serene seaside lullaby. With the banjos in the mix, too, this track has a very homely, peace-loving sound that’s sure to strike a deep chord in the mind of the listener; and to great effect with the deep, rich mix, and the nicely balanced production! The Levy Circus is an indie/rock/pop band from the East Midlands, known for their honest songwriting and tasteful energy in their songs — and on their latest single, “Hurricane”, Miles Levy and the band bring their various talents together beautifully; be it their fun, uptempo drumming or their catchy, nicely articulated guitar riffs, there’s energy going around right from the start of this track, and I’m a fan! Sarah Lucie, known as the YOUnifier, breaks free with her debut album "Light in the Dark”; a fruitful expression of self with intimate letters to self dotting the album, we take a look at the title track from the album — and from the beautiful pianos and choir lines in the intro to the sheer power of Sarah’s vocals, this track is chills down the spine from start to finish. With a delightful piano riff serving as the foundational motif to the track, it evolves organically and with much charm, adapting to the rubato of Sarah’s vocals, the two flowing effortlessly in tandem throughout.
