FM-Jax - “Shadow Wolf”
FM-JAX's sound is a dynamic blend of straightforward melodies and progressive compositions, reflecting his deep love for the 80s with his bellowing guitars, synth-laden bass lines, and creamy guitar solos — and on his latest single, “Shadow Wolf”, he accomplishes just that; a soundtrack to take you right back to the era of 8-bit; from the percussion to the guitars that lead the ensemble, there’s nostalgia and fever dreams written all over this one, with an excellent mix and master that captures the nuances of all involved quite beautifully to top it all off. Beggars Whiskey - “The Edge”
Beggars Whisky, hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is renowned for their unique blend of hard-hitting rock and soulful blues. On their latest single, “The Edge”, they bring a seamless fusion of rock-n-roll and blues, driving a message of hope, positivity and power; right from the excellent baritone vocals to the full, resounding chords, the ensemble has no problems keeping up with the pace and the fervour of the vocals as the unit transports you to a whiskey bar in no time; wrap this in a barrage of tasteful solos and some expert processing and all in all, an excellent listen is what you get! Blueprint Tokyo - “Mission Control”
Blueprint Tokyo, an indie rock duo from Oklahoma City, is known for their love of hooks and atmosphere. Comprised of Andy and Kevin, the pair has been performing across the states for over a decade — and now on their latest single, “Mission Control”, they bring a high-energy classic rock sound with hints of jazz and blues in the bass line, coupled with sky-high vocals and vocal layers for ages, making for quite the engaging listen from start to finish. The guitar work is sublime with excellent tracking, and the drumming is quick on the foot and precise. Take a listen to the track here!
Priced Out - “Pull The Ladder Up”
Composed of Robert Douglas Cameron and Devon O’Rourke, dark grunge rock outfit Priced Out has been hard at work crafting their underground, hard-edged punk rock sound for the past few — and on their latest single, “Pull The Ladder Up”, they nail it on the head. Forming part of their “Four Songs” EP, the track is rife with energy right from the start; with their fast strummed rhythm guitar sections and expressive drumming, there’s much to appreciate about the ensemble — and the vocals that lay atop it. Carey Clayton - “Headless”
Singer and songwriter Carey Clayton brings with his sound a rush of atmospheric synth-laden electronic music that does more than just push boundaries; and on his latest single, “Headless”, the extensive sound design chops shine through brightly, as Clayton weaves messages of discovery and change into his vocal performance; and along with the ethereal, endless abyss of synths ranging from the arpeggios to the basses and glitches, this one is the kind that would hypnotise the listener with not much effort at all.
