A disillusioned heart might do well to listen to some Moonchild. The L. A. trio is back with the new single “Cure” and the promise of a new album Voyager, due for release on May 26. Perhaps the band’s most impressive feat, aside from their stellar musicianship, is their ability to write about love and relationships in a wholly genuine way. On “Cure,” for example, singer Amber Navran pleads the case that “love is a cure for heartache,” a sentiment which could be generic but in this case is anything but. With its deft production and soulful delivery, the track is itself a worthy antidote for a jaded soul.
