Michael Curtis is a music producer from Dublin and he has previously released music under his Genus alias, with a handful of releases in 2021. This year he decided to start a new project as Micc and “Íseult” is his second single under the new pseudonym. Both singles “Baked” and “Íseult” will be part of the upcoming debut album “Mood Altering Drug” that will be released in the second half of 2022.

“Íseult” is a modern sweet lullaby ambient track, full of layers and ethereal textures, which gently lulls us through idyllic landscapes. It could be the perfect soundtrack for a fairy tale, colored softly by playful brushstrokes. This innocence is very typical of the children's universe and it is reinforced by a sample of what seems to be the babbling of a baby, cleverly introduced in the song.
And it is interesting that the contemplative “Íseult” sounds like a big contrast when you put it in front of the rhythmic “Baked”, but the connection between both is there: Micc created his first single by sampling a music box. This leaves us curious about what new contact points will happen next in Mic(hael) C(urtis)’s music!
