Arliston - What Did I Think Would Happen
“What Did I Think Would Happen” is the latest single release by Arliston and it is an intimate story of love and loss. Jack Ratcliffe and George Hasbury also known as Arliston curates a cold yet vulnerable melody for their latest release which is set to capture hearts and touch souls. It is a melody that leaves you feeling dazed with its hauntingly beautiful soundscapes and soothing yet dusky vocals. The song is carried by calm and subtle piano notes and soft keys that seem to sustain the ambience for the vocals to outline. One can trace the click of a VCR playing a cassette at the beginning of the song and it paves the way for the retro feel of the song.
Aggressive Soccer Moms - The Doppler Effect
The Swedish post-punk band Aggressive Soccer Moms is out with their new single “The Doppler Effect”. Formed by Anders Bergstroem and Thomas Wahlstroem, they put their classical post-punk expertise to the test. The song starts with drums and a bass line that outlines a curious yet daunting melody. The mood is swiftly broken by the crunchy electric guitar riffs that sweep in and change the soundscape entirely. As the music progresses and the vocals kick in, the punk energy that radiates from the song becomes quite evident. Their writing and lyrics are sophisticated and philosophical inviting the listeners to ponder over their music.
Blindness & Light - Butterfly
“Butterfly” is the latest release by the band Blindness & Light and it is an ode to human perseverance. Beautifully crafted and written, the song speaks about self-determination and resilience. Right from the start, the track sets the groove with the guitar riffs and drum beats echoing loudly over the vocals. The solid bass lines lay down the foundation and outline the melody engaging the immersive listening experience. Helen Reynolds adds another layer of harmony with her soothing backing vocals which elevates the song making it feel ethereal. This is a song that resonates deeply with the listener, with its poetic lyrics and heavenly soundscape. If you’re a music lover, this is a song that deserves to be on your playlist.
Sam Brace - We Go High
Sam Brace goes all the way with his latest single “We Go High”. The powerful vocals and the assertive instrumentation bring back the sound of the 90s in this alternative rock ballad. Layered on gripping riffs and resounding drum beats, the vocals of Sam soar in this dazzling track. Listening to his sound, you’re instantly reminded of bands like Nirvana, Radiohead and David Bowie. The incorporation of electronic elements gives the song a unique futuristic vibe that is fresh and inspired. A beautiful and graceful interlude with guitar arpeggios brings a heavenly feel to the track which is later resolved by the chaotic breakdown that follows. “We Go High” is an uplifting track that stays with you even after the last drum beat.
Mark Vennis & Different Places - In These Times…
The English band Mark Vennis & Different Places delivers their new single “In these Times…”. With bold guitar riffs and solid drums, the song is constructed in a cinematic and atmospheric soundscape. The raw texture of the song is emphasised and worked upon without fear. What has resulted is an unapologetically innovative and fresh piece of art that inspires. The aggressive guitars that come in on top of the rhythm guitar give the track such soul and independence. Mark Vennis & Different Place is a band to look out for.
