Tell us about yourself. How did Limb Breaker come about?

Pretty much the project came about where I needed an outlet for all my rejected ideas I had from my other projects. They culminated of just frustration and built up emotion at the time where I started coming up with the project and purpose of the project

Your single, “Kills me” is a sonic riot, bursting with raw power, fierce emotions, and gritty textures. A striking and stirring debut release that reflects serious skill. Tell us more about the creative process behind this song.

I was going through a rough patch where I was struggling with just losing 2 jobs I had at the same time and a baby coming at the time. I had a lot going through my mind but I was also stuck arguing with myself and well… me. During the process of coming up with the idea of the project, I was studying up on using Cubase 12 and doing the recording myself since I had no money coming in to be able to get an engineer. So I became self-sufficient and just did everything myself. Experimenting with mics on the one fender F100 Cab I had and using my Helix Stomp XL for other guitar sounds. It’s a process but it is totally worth it.

What are some of the musical influences at play here?

It’s mostly early Foo Fighters, with Melvins and Boris. I really like these bands so im trying to mesh them together while maintaining the integrity of what I’m trying to portray.

What do the lyrics signify?

My subconscious telling me one thing and I’m pretty much sick of listening to it. Get the hell out.

What do you enjoy most about the songwriting process?

I enjoy just trying to feel out what im trying to get in the moment. Sometimes it’s awesome, sometimes it sounds dumb or cliché. Sometimes I mix the two and boom you got a catchy tune.

Which artists have inspired you and shaped your sound?

This is a loaded question. I’m influenced by a lot of big acts as well as local acts. My main base would be Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and The Beatles. The others that surround the thiccness is the Melvins, Mastodon, Boris, Baroness, Isis, Sleep, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Mr. Phlyzzzz. Local acts around here would be Suns of the morning star, Shroud Eater, Barber Floyd, Iron Buddha, World Eater, Kaiju Blood, and many more. A lot of the locals are like family.

What are your future plans, and what excites you most about what’s ahead?

I’m dripping out more songs throughout the next 6 months. I got to get myself a drummer and get some shows and move around. I have some cool concepts on how I want to get merch so I gotta get with Washed up drunk records and see what I can do to promote the brand. I’m excited to get the project moving. It has been a long time coming and I’m super stoked to get this finally out for the world to hear.
