Still early in their musical journey, the alternative pop/rock and electronic duo release their third single to date – an electrifying, heavily guitar-infused, high-energy rock anthem. The co-creation of Austrian electro-rockers Mike & Soles, Shredded Bulbs is an eclectic – but finely executed – blend of heavy guitars, electronic textures and catchy pop undertones. Their latest single sees them bring vitality and artistic endeavour in one track. ‘Waterfall’ does not dissent to their philosophy; setting a raw, garage-rock tone from the outset, the track is backed by sporadic bassy undercurrents over which Mike and Soles lay instantly memorable, anthem-like hooks.

What first got you into music?
My cousin invited me to their rehearsal when I turned 13, I sat down behind the drumset - 15 min later we were performing together a song ... this was a magical moment - connecting people by vibes / feeling this emotional connection inspired me to get into it ... soon after that a first band was found ...
What do you think your role is in this world?
Well, currently we are facing quite challenging times, tumble from one crisis into another ... so being an artist, spreading positive vibes with our music can be seen as a role, which positively influences humanity & spreading joy.
Your latest track is 'Waterfall'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
New music is created very spontaneously, it is a process that has no specific rules. Waterfall was "born" by a great, dirty rock-guitar riff created by Soles & the drum beat was found instantly. Waterfall is a song about relationship: Connectedness, love, togetherness, strength, passion. All facets of being together with a beloved partner. All the ups and downs, the obstacles and hurdles that must be overcome in order, to grow, shape and create together - the song with its various parts, leading to apolyphonic, epic chorus should represent that - an ode to togetherness.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Music is more than any language can express. It reflects the diversity of our human existence and reflects the deepest longings of our lives. The vibes of shredded bulbs should stimulate, stir us up, make us laugh and tempt us to dance, but it should definitely connect us. this music is a part of us and we share it with you to have a good time in your life.
How do you spend your time?
Beside dedicating our passion & time for creating new songs / new music, we're outdoor lovers, spend as much as possible time with our families, do a lot of sports, like to BBQ, simply enjoy life l
What are you most proud of?
Our latest single and the fantastic, artistic video which we created with a great-performing crew - Waterfall - a joyous ode to the power of love and perseverance.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
That's a difficult question to answer, as there are so many artists we really adore ... there's no specific, there's not "THE One" artist ... best would be to open the next Super-Bowl-Half-Time-Show ;-).
What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?
We will always experiment and develop further. As a duo, we are exploring the inexhaustible creativity of sounds & synths, combined with our traditional instruments and memorable vocal hooks. Our ultimate goal is to create something independent.People should say: Hey that's shredded bulbs. We don´t want to do this unit pop thing.
Do you think that technology is improving lives?
Basically a clear yes, think about us, as an Alternative Pop-Rock Duo - how could we create such a sound without all that technology improvements & digitalization (still loving and using analogue stuff as well - no doubt ;-) - technology used in the right way / for the right things, thumbs up.
What are your plans for the future?
For us, that was just the start.We want to find our own sound even more and increase our audience. Next up is another single & EP and our debut album is in preparation. We now have a wonderful team around us, and we are working hard towards our goal of creating an album that can consistently captivate and excite the listener. Yes, and then there's the Life Performance to have similar fun in front of a large crowd, playing festivals and spreading the bulbs vibes to the people.
