After the instant success of last year’s ‘Didn’t See It Coming’ and ‘Body Says’, London-based singer/songwriter Salt Ashes returns with a new intoxicating single, ‘Heart Attack.’ Showcasing her expert approach towards marrying beautiful dreamlike vocal melodies with huge electronic dance rhythms, Salt Ashes soundtracks the crippling sensation of longing for someone, creating something more personal in every way. Previous release ‘Didn’t See It Coming’ pushes and pulls throughout. With her signature sound of dark-rhythmically pulsing dance music at play, Salt Ashes lets loose with exhilarating bass and drum kick-offs, whilst biting synths provide a breathtaking floor for her airy floating vocals to dance across. Salt Ashes’ undeniable aptitude for unique electro-dance blend was not left unnoticed, as ‘Didn’t See It Coming’ was featured on Elton John's Rocket Hour radio show.

Hello Salt Ashes. What first got you into music?
Honestly, just singing. I was singing from the moment I could and so to think I could perform and sing to people as a career was very appealing to me.
What do you think your role is in this world?
Hopefully many things, and I imagine they would change with time but I think right now it’s bringing people together. Whether it be with my music or just friends and family. I love the feeling of community and think it benefits us in many ways than one.
Your latest track is 'Heart Attack'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
Heart Attack was born one afternoon in Brighton when I was writing in my bedroom. I made a crappy demo to it and thought that the song would never be played to anyone as I really didn’t like it. But then I played it to my producer about 6 months later who told me off for keeping it from him. He brought life into it and made me see it’s potential.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Listen to the whole album!!! Of any artist! Albums seem to be a dying art and I really wish it wasn’t.
How do you spend your time?
Making music, eating food, trying to pretend I like working out but working out so I can eat all the food.
What are you most proud of?
Being able to do music full time, successfully. It’s a hard industry so I’m really proud that I’ve been doing that for so long.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Madonna, Tove Lo, Depeche mode
What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?
I’m always trying to push boundaries whether it be sonically or visually… Trying to make sure I’m evolving and never sitting too comfortably.
Do you think that technology is improving lives?
Oh wow this is a tough question with a long answer but I’ll try and keep it short. Not particularly no. Of course there are advantages to it and I’m sure aspects of our lives have “improved” but I actually think people are happier leading simpler lives with less distractions.
What are your plans for the future?
More music making, more gigs and more eating food.
