Higgs Field is a 4 piece Alternative Rock / Metal Band from Mount Gambier, South Australia. From love at first sight to cannibalism, "Us Forever" takes what we know about love songs and lights it on fire. Based on a true story, "Us Forever" starts out like a romance novel and quickly turns into a Stephan King epic, going deep into the psyche of a killer, seeking connection in the most psychotic way. On a first listen you'd be forgiven for missing the subject matter completely, as Higgs Field come out of the gates with a heavy, pop rock ballad full of catchy melodies and grungy vocals that land somewhere between Oasis and Metallica.

Kamil) Hey Higgs Field, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
Awesome to have a chat with you Kamil. We're a four piece band, so we all had our own paths that lead us to music. For me personally and maybe for a lot of people out there, you grow up listening to music, you hear something that resonates with you and you go down that path of discovery. For me it resonated so deeply that I felt a need to create it for myself. That lead to me picking up the guitar, write some riffs and eventually through passion, time and luck we're having a chat about our new song.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
Maybe too many! Everyone in the band have a few different talents outside of music. For me, I like trying to create things. Kinda like alchemy. I'll sit and trying to create a strange drawing or try and animate a little story. Music is my number one but you can't learn new things if it's the only thing you do.
Your latest song is 'Us Forever'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
Yeah, we all got together and basically within an hour, we changed this weird little tune from a demo recorded on a phone to what it is today. We put a bit of polish into it and created something together that's sounds unique and incredibly catchy. It's a love song but it's also a really grim, disturbing. It's more disturbing when you realize how much you can relate to the song, only to find out what it's really about.
Can you reveal the recipe for a musical hit?
Nah, never had one but it's not really the goal either. We're the best at what we do but that's because no one can do what we do. We're writing songs in our own style, totally unfazed by what other people think a hit should sound like. We're just incredibly lucky that people want to see us play and listen to our music.
What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?
We're going to keep writing. We're always continuing to evolve and change over time but we have the freedom to do that. We're a pretty tight crew, so that growth and development really happens very naturally.
What inspires you as an artist? Could it be the sea, the weather or something else?
Life and all of the dark, beautiful and intriguing things that happen with it. Experiencing different things positive and negative and trying to channel it in a thing. It's like breathing experiences and thoughts into existence. Just like alchemy, nothing was there before and now there's something permanent.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
When we sing this song, I need to hear you scream the chorus. And on a more personal note. Most people are pretending, so if someone tells you how you should look and act, always remember that someone else told them the same thing. Think critically, don't hurt anyone, especially yourself.
Do you have a mentor or coach?
We don't have a band coach but that's because we don't feel like we need it right now. We've got different goals to most bands and tend to be very isolated from mentorship and coaching.
Do you think it's easy to become established in the music world, or is it difficult?
We've been around for a few years now but we hope to look back on this as the early stages of Higgs Field. If you mean established as in popular, I've heard you've got to make a pledge to a cult that worships an owl. We're not into that.
What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next five to 10 years?
We will have a whole heap of top quality music to listen to and we would have done some dope shit along the way. Hopefully ai doesn't take over and the UFOs are friendly dudes. It'll kill the vibe if anything like that goes down.
