Known for their trademarked coloured hair, Single By Sunday combine their energetic live shows with raucous guitars and a millennial brashness, whilst retaining some of the original mid-eighties Pop Punk attitudes. Core band members, Josh Ladds - lead vocals and Jonny Eakins - lead guitar/backing vocals, are also joined by Joshua Clark - bass and Ben Morland – drums. Reputation is produced by Ryan Benyo and Monte Malone; two gold record, award winning producers, engineers and songwriters from L.A. 5 years ago a rumour was started by a fan that fancied a member of the band.

Kamil) Hey Single By Sunday, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What drew you to the music industry?
Hi Kamil, we were all drawn to the music industry because of our love for music. Josh (lead singer with red hair), loves a more generic type of pop sound, so favours artists like Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, You Me At Six etc. Jonny (lead guitarist with blue hair), on the other hand, favours the likes of The Beach Boys, Taylor Swift, ABBA, The Story So Far, Turnstile etc. Joshua (Bass player with blonde hair) likes to listen to a lot of 90’s guitar bands, whilst Ben (Drummer with purple hair) just wants to listen to any Pop Punk bands that are good and have great drummers. The band collectively, have musical heroes and heroines that they just want to emulate on stage.
What is the funniest or weirdest question that you have ever been asked in an interview?
This one! Only joking. One of the weirdest questions was what are our favourite sleeping positions? The answer is ‘with our eyes closed’.
Your latest song is 'Reputation'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
Nothing unusual happened while we were recording it apart from a lot of reflection. The song is based on true life events, which meant that some painful memories had to be revisited. A lot of people still think that because you’re in a band or because you’re in the public eye that you shouldn’t have feelings about things like online abuse but unfortunately that’s just not true.
What are your songs about?
We write about different things. We prefer to try and write from our personal experiences as opposed to just creating random storylines but sometimes that approach works just as well. Sometimes, it can just depend on the mood that you’re in when you start writing. On the other hand it could just be a little idea or melody that you have in your head, that sparks an idea.
What is the most trouble that you ever have gotten into?
Wow, where do we start…. ha-ha.
(Josh) I once accidently scratched the side of my mom’s car with my bike, she wasn’t happy.
(Jonny) When I was at school I got into trouble for falling asleep in class. I got two weeks detention.
(Joshua) I got into trouble for over feeding my goldfish. It died.
(Ben) I’m a good boy, I’ve never been in trouble. I’m also a really good liar!
If you could date any other musician, who would it be and why?
Jonny – I’d date Taylor Swift or Russel Tovey, no explanation needed, right!
Josh – Margot Robbie
Joshua – Miley Cyrus or Millie Bobby Brown
Ben – Anyone that will have me!
If you can have your fans remember one thing about you, what would it be?
That we were a band that actually cared about our fans and that we never took ourselves too seriously.
When were you generally fulfilled in your position as an artist?
This happens every time that a fan says that they can connect with a song that we’ve written. Job done.
What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Make the music that you want to make and not the music that you think you should make. Do it because you want and enjoy doing it. Stop if or when you’re not enjoying what you’re doing and don’t believe everything that everyone tells you.
What are your plans for the future?
We plan to keep writing and releasing more tracks later this year and we will also be going out on tour. We’ll be doing the US, Germany and the UK.
