Kamil) Hey Mark Wink, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?

There is a story behind that and there are some articles in different books regarding my way to the music.

In short:

It was in mid-May 2016 when a speaker at a symposium said:
“Do something you´ve never done before,” “If you want to go new, innovative ways, if you want to be ready for VUKA world, then you have to learn to think and act in new ways. „

I decided that day to learn and start cooking or making music. => And with August 2016 the time had come and I visited a small music studio in Vienna.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

Let me describe it that way - When I put five fingers with the tips on the floor I can symbolize the firm, stable position of a table.

The thumb stands for family, the index finger for friends, the middle finger for work, the ring finger for hobbies and the little finger for humor.

Many people overlook the fact that they are only standing on 3 table legs with family, work and a few friends - if one component is missing, they fall over.

I love to make also the videos for my music it’s like painting a picture. I love the sea and be 3-4 times a skipper in summer and I like to play tennis and have a drink after the game.

Your latest song is 'The Light'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

Well in this song I changed the direction 3 times and it good more and more complex. First I wanted to produce an EDM Song with strong complex beats. Then I found this elf voice and the Hookline changed.

The song transformed from an instrumental project to a vocal song project…but I struggled a lot with the grown complex structure especially the drum set and the voice n combination. Honestly speaking I was close to skip the whole project. The same happen in the video process. The basic story plan was simple but then I wanted to combine 3 time/storylines and add to find a balance between all the visual possibilities.

Can you reveal the recipe for a musical hit?

I think there are better experts out there to talk about :-)

Of course there are basics and a lot of people love strawberry ice cream and those typical 4-chord songs..but they often sound way too much the same to me.

The question is, who defines what a hit is - the crowd or everyone for themselves?

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

I always try to make the next song & video better than the project before.

I think Superhot and Freeway turned out great songs but then it was really difficult for me to do better with my resources.

So I added new elements like cinematic sounds to the playing field and this helps me to develop.

Hybrid work (composing&producing) is also becoming more common (man & machine/ai)

What inspires you as an artist? Could it be the sea, the weather or something else?

Sometimes it’s a sound, sometimes a picture, sometimes a special mood. Very often I see the story in front of me and then the song follows.

Sometimes the song is a part of the video - a kind of soundtrack upfront ;-)

What is one message you would give to your fans?

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all for a great evening with Friends & Mr. Wink.

Do you have a mentor or coach?

My creativity.

Do you think it's easy to become established in the music world, or is it difficult?

From my point of view it is a process mixed with hard work, luck and the necessary means.

What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next five to 10 years?

The Nordics loves „Freeway“..I could imagine performing once live there at the Wink Tower in Amsterdam (the tower is real/exists :-)

..and within the next 5 years I’ll have a great set of songs to rock the place!

Best regards, Mark
