Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark, who has reaped plaudits from Richard Branson and BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw, launched her self-released debut EP, Eagles, in Scotland before heading stateside. Selected as a Mercedes Benz KTLA "Artist to Watch", Natalie was featured in the Mercedes Benz U.S. commercial campaign which also included performances at the famous Roxy on Sunset, and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. ‘How High’ showcases the vocal virtuosity that mesmerized audiences across the country. A stirring, emotionally uplifting track, it features layers of harmonies and earthy, hypnotic rhythms. This anthem of self discovery is the perfect track for any feel-good, high-energy indie-pop playlist.

Kamil) Hey Natalie Clark, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
Hi! I was always surrounded by music growing up as my family is pretty musical! My Dad played jazz guitar so I first started singing at jazz gigs when I was around 14! From then I was so passionate about music and once I started writing my own songs I was hooked and wanted to do it full time!
Describe your favorite and least favorite part about being a musician.
My favorite part is just getting to do what I love! Writing and making music feels so magical and then getting to perform the songs and connect with people is the best feeling! Not sure if there's anything I don't like about being a musician!? Maybe just the fact that it's not a secure and steady thing. There's no guarantee about anything so you have to be able to always keep moving forward and believe in what you're doing!
Your latest song is 'How High'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
I loved writing the song and I actually wrote the chorus a few years ago! But the song only recently came to life when I brought it to the incredible producer Todd Spadafore, who really understood the feeling of the song and produced it even better than I could have imagined!
How do you differ from most other artists?
The main difference between myself and other artists here in L.A is that I'm Scottish! There are very few Scottish singer-songwriters based here in L.A. that I know of! And I moved to America a few years ago to pursue music, so I feel like I bring my Scottish heritage with me and it's in my music!
Where are you from and do you have a stable home or do you prefer travelling?
I'm from Glasgow in Scotland and now I'm based in Los Angeles. I have a steady home here now but I also love travelling and hope to tour the new music later this year!
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
All my music tends to have an empowering, positive and hopefully inspiring message!! Most of my songs have an uplifting feel - even the ones that talk about struggles, they usually have hope in there too!!
How do you nurture your own creativity?
I love listening to podcasts or watching interviews or documentaries about inspiring, creative people! I love to hear about their stories and process and always find inspiring nuggets that I try to apply to my own life and music!
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Harry Styles!! I feel like everyone at his shows are so excited and in the zone and the atmosphere would be electric to perform in!!!
Who's your ideal musician to collaborate with and why?
Can I say Harry Styles again?! Haha! It's true though! His energy is just off the charts and I can just imagine that he brings that level of excitement and enthusiasm to anything he creates! I'd love to be a part of that process!
What are your plans for the future?
I'm releasing an E.P later this year so will be releasing more songs/music videos leading up to that! I'll be performing these songs live too so I'm excited to tour and connect with people, sharing all this new music!!!
