New York native Young God Blow constantly explodes with unique sounds and an infectious energy that seamlessly solidifies himself as a Hip-Hop juggernaut. Like a runaway freight train with no brakes there’s no stop to what he can bring, now fans can rejoice in knowing his highly anticipated debut LP ‘VERMILION!’ is over the horizon. The production, lyricism and energy are out of this world, it’s like YGB managed to tap into a whole new realm of Rap he dominates on his own. A lot of the inspiration that helped this album come to be was YGB’s romanticism and love of living life during the early 2000’s. From gangsta rap to punk kid culture this project brings together everything that made Y2K great by adding it into a sonic melting pot.

Kamil) Hey Young God Blow, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
Every since I was a little kid I felt like I was destined for more than a “regular” life, I was a super shy boy but I always had huge love for music and aspirations of being in front of large crowds performing and having everyone love what I produce into the world.
How do you balance your time in the studio with other commitments such as a part-time job, family, admin?
This is probably the toughest thing about my day to day schedule but I do have a way to control it. I have checklists and a white board where I write all the things I need to get done and whatever free time I have I focus on either music or spending time for myself. It is a bit harder being an independent artist but I make it work!
Your latest release is 'VERMILION!'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
This album was the first piece of music I worked over a year to create. It was an amazing experience and I got to work with a ton of amazing people through different states, recorded some in Houston, TX & Brooklyn, NY. The travel experience was phenomenal.
Where did you get the inspiration for this album?
I’m in love with early 2000’s aesthetic, it’s what I grew up in. The whole theme of my album was supposed to embody the spirit of the early 2000’s music era, I wanted to connect a surge of punk grunge and gangsta rap to convey a nostalgic and energetic feeling of great music.
How long did you work on the 'VERMILION!'? Was it an easy process for you?
I had songs that I sat on for over a year and other songs I made days before releasing the album, the process was definitely time consuming and not easy in the slightest bit but I’m in love with the way it came out and wouldn’t change a thing!
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
Be true to yourself and be the best version of yourself. I take pride in my energetic presence and that comes from allowing myself to break out of my shy shell, I try to be a beacon for others to do the same thing!
What interests or hobbies do you have outside of music?
Anime and video games are all I know outside of music haha, I’m a huge nerd and all my passions outside of music revolve around that. If I’m not making music then im streaming video games on twitch or watching anime with friends.
How do you find yourself in the music business? When you started out in music, did you know it would be like this?
The music industry is definitely a tricky one, I knew it would be difficult coming on but after doing this for a few years I realized it’s a lot deeper than I thought. It’s a tough nut to crack and no one really has a formula figured out but im trying and I know I’ll make it far.
How do you nurture your own creativity?
I like to take time to myself and never force anything, a lot of my best music comes from inspiration from other things and that keeps my creativity at its highest. We all deserve to explore the world, it helps us learn more about ourselves.
What are your plans for the future?
More great music, more visual creative content & merch merch merch! That’s all coming into the new year and I can’t wait for everyone to see what I have in store!
