Swedish/American alt-pop duo, 7000apart, combine powerful vocals with strong songwriting and moody melodies to deliver music on an emotional level. Singer, Amelie Eiding and multi-instrumentalist, Jon Kresin have both struggled with their own mental health issues over the years and have found the cathartic nature of radical honesty, self-acceptance, and artistic expression through songwriting therapeutic. Their experiences and time spent healing have fostered a genuine passion for helping others through their music. Amelie was a Swedish exchange student in Wisconsin and met Jon his last year in high school. There was an immediate chemistry and connection between these two as they bonded over their love of music.

Kamil) Hey 7000apart, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What drew you to the music industry?
The main thing that drew us to the music industry was listening to a lot of music that got us through some hard times. We want to be that type of artist for others.
What is the funniest or weirdest question that you have ever been asked in an interview?
We’ve been asked a lot of weird questions: but one we were asked was “what’s a conspiracy theory you believe in”. We don’t really believe in conspiracy theories largely and it’s super hard to answer those without being super political too.
Your latest song is 'Stand Together'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
Speaking of being political, we wrote “Stand Together” during the U.S. presidential election of 2020. We felt like we were all hating each other because of our beliefs and that we really needed to keep in mind that we are all humans. We all want to be loved, be happy, and be safe even if we have different opinions on how to get there.
What are your songs about?
Mental health, setting boundaries and the struggles of being human.
What is the most trouble that you ever have gotten into?
Jon got a detention in 1st grade and Amelie put a shopping cart on the roof of her school.
If you could be a fruit, which one would you be and why?
We would probably be olives. Mostly, because we love olives a lot.
If you can have your fans remember one thing about you, what would it be?
Feel your feelings in a healthy way. Don’t bottle everything up inside.
If you did not become a musician, what would you be doing right now?
Jon genuinely doesn’t have anything else he would want to do, aside from maybe writing stories. Amelie would probably be a doctor.
Which famous musicians do you admire?
Too many to really list, but for Jon Switchfoot, Twenty One Pilots, and Ed Sheeran. For Amelie, Paramore, Evanescence, and Sara Barielles.
What are your plans for the future?
We are releasing an album called “Feel Your Feelings”, making music videos, touring with that album, and trying to make the world a little better place to live.
