Sunday Hunter's debut solo song is called 'Reckless Deadly.' Sunday wrote and produced the whole music, with Jason Millhouse from Recordworks Studios assisting with mixing and mastering. 'Reckless Deadly,' according to Sunday, is about the frantic nature of life as we know it, and how the distinctions between right and wrong have become irreversibly muddled, particularly by the media, making what used to seem like easy judgments excessively complicated. The track 'Reckless Deadly' combines electronic elements, powerful fast-paced percussion, and distorted guitars. The tune begins with a bouncing synth melody, lending a lighthearted tone to the introduction.

Kamil) Hey Sunday Hunter, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What have you been up to over the past year in this big old mess?
Hey Kamil! The feeling is mutual! Over the past year I have been completing studies in sound production and focussing on releasing new music and getting things together for my upcoming EP in 2022.
How do you feel about the fact that you've released your first solo track?
Well, it’s not really my first release! It is my first release as “Sunday Hunter” but I previously released music as “Sunday” back in 2018. As I have learnt a lot more about production over the past few years, and am returning to the industry after a break, I decided to rebrand myself as “Sunday Hunter”! But safe to say, I am a lot more confident as an artist now and I am much more proud of my work. I do find it bittersweet though, as I am definitely “my own worst critic” and always second guess whether a track is ready to be released. But overall I’m excited to be getting my new music out there for people to hear.
Your latest song is 'Reckless Deadly'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
I originally wrote the guitar parts for Reckless Deadly almost a decade ago when I saved the idea into my BOSS RC-20XL loop station. Over the years as I learned more about producing I always revisited that track and about two years ago I put the song together and began refining it into the polished product you can stream today! As with most of my tracks, I tend to compose the instrumental and then write lyrics that fit the composition. At the time I was writing the lyrics, there was a lot going on in the world and every time I turned on the TV all I saw was bad news which inspired the lyrics to the track.
What are you focussing on right now?
Right now I am focussing on keeping up momentum with my music releases with an EP and more to come in 2022! While I’ve had a break from releasing music over the past few years, I’ve never stopped writing, so I have a backlog of tracks that just need to be fine-tuned for release.
What inspired you to start playing and making music?
My Mum introduced me to a lot of great music when I was young, bands and musicians like DEVO and Frank Zappa, and music seems to run in the family as my Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather are/were all musicians. I guess being a musician is just part of my DNA.
What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?
I think there are many challenges of being an artist, but one of the biggest is standing out in an industry that is saturated and extremely competitive. Also, finding time amongst all the other things in life (work, family etc.) can be challenging.
How do you structure your day?
Haha, I don’t. I tend to just let things happen as they do and go with the flow, drink lots of coffee and squeeze as much time making music in as I can between everything else.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
I enjoy spending time with my son and husband, but other than that music is pretty central to my life and I get a lot of enjoyment out of making music.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
I definitely do! I’m an aquatic jukebox in the shower and will sing a compilation of different songs ranging from Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like a Hole” to “Whip It” by DEVO. Most recently though I was singing “Red Room” by Hiatus Coyote.
What are your plans for next year?
Next year I have plans to release a lot more music! Also, I’m hoping to start gigging again and potentially form a band!
