EP "Завжди Молодий" (Forever Young) by Viscula was recorded in 2012 in Ivano-Frankiavsk, Ukraine. After a creative break, Viscula was re-born with a truly new sound and different ideas that were embodied in this record. The mini-album contains 3 original tracks and one split with the Ukrainian punk band Pan Pupec. After the release of the new EP, in the following year the band Viscula confidently went up, performing at the largest festivals of Ukraine and near abroad. In 2013, Viscula became a laureate and was named the best in the genre of indie music at the legendary Ukrainian festival Chervona Ruta. After that, the band records new material and moves to Kyiv in the hope of new prospects.

Kamil) Hey Viscula, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
Hi Kamil, thank you for the invitation. The realization that you can not only listen to music, but also create it, came in my early teenage years, and since then music has always been somewhere nearby.
How do you balance your time in the studio with other commitments such as a part-time job, family, admin?
The whole studio process is exhausting and provides incredible excitement in anticipation of something. It is this excitement that gives strength and confidence for all other everyday tasks.
Your latest release is 'Завжди Молодий'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
The release 'Завжди Молодий' (Forever Young) is a reissue of the mini-album recorded in 2012. It consists of 4 songs that we recorded in Ivano Frankiavsk, Ukraine together with producer Oleg Moroz. The recording studio was located in a small room of an abandoned factory, stuffed with vintage equipment. We traveled all night by train to get to this studio from the very morning and worked like crazy because at 10 in the evening we had to catch the last train home.
Where did you get the inspiration for this EP?
Inspiration came during rehearsals. There is nothing better than when a live ensemble improvises and sifts through the sieve of rhythm and melodies the golden grains of interesting musical themes.
How long did you work on the 'Завжди Молодий'? Was it an easy process for you?
Actually, we had already played these songs live many times before recording this EP, so we recorded them as quickly as possible and we think we succeeded.
How do you know when a work is finished?
When we realized that we gave 100% in the recording studio, we took the risk to listen to what we had done and were satisfied with the result.
Can you write what was your best performance in your career? How do you remember it?
Undoubtedly, the best result for Viscula is the 20th anniversary of the band's work and the realization that we are afloat and can still surprise the discerning listener.
How do you find yourself in the music business? When you started out in music, did you know it would be like this?
When we started, everything seemed obvious and we saw ourselves on the big stage. Over time, youthful maximalism was replaced by experience, which is much more valuable than any awards and accolades. We are completely satisfied with everything that happened on the way of the band and and now we can say that we got much more than we expected.
Who is your favourite musician?
Simple heroes of rock n roll, which are in every decade from the 50s to the present day.
What are your plans for the future?
We are not in the habit of talking about plans, but we promise to continue working for the glory of rock n roll. No, we are not the heroes of rock n roll, we are its ordinary workers.
