Trinidadian-born and Montreal-based singer, rapper, and songwriter, Trinisha Browne grew up in a household of Reggae, Gospel, Hip-Hop, and 90s R&B—all of which influenced her and still flavor her recordings today. Her love for music, visual art, and poetry led Browne to explore various artistic opportunities in the city of Montreal, and in 2016 she released her first EP ‘Free-write’, which was featured on the website of VOIR Magazine. In March 2017 Trinisha released her second EP, ‘Thought You Should Know’, which caught the attention of VICE Quebec, who interviewed her on her music career and what the future looked like. In December 2017 she opened for Azealia Banks at L'Olympia in Montreal. After playing many live shows around Montreal and focusing on developing and growing her original sound, Trinisha released her 3rd EP ‘Red Roses’ on February 14th, 2019.

Kamil) Hey Trinisha Browne, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
It’s nice to be able to chat with you as well, thanks for connecting with me.
My journey began at a young age, I started off by writing poetry in a diary that I kept as a teenager. Writing was my escape and a way to express myself on paper, I later then began to record at the studio.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I would love to work with Burna Boy & Fireboy DML.
Your latest song is 'Heaven'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?
Heaven was recorded by myself at my home studio where I usually do all my recordings and send the files out to be mixed and mastered by my engineer Merker Music. I had just moved in to my current apartment where I was alone at the time and it was an interesting space to be in because it’s a pretty huge place so this usually has an impact of the quality of the audio which turned out to be just fine.
What are you focussing on right now?
At the moment, I am working on my next EP which remains undisclosed. I am also focused on growing my fan base and reaching a wider audience.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud out my ability to transform thoughts into Melodies and to remain consistent on this journey which I am on.
Creating music is a skill that some are naturally born with while others practice overtime to become good at.
What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?
My biggest challenge is getting heard by the right audience, marketing can be quite costly when you don’t have financial support or funding behind your projects.
How do you structure your day?
I usually start my day by checking my emails first, just in case there maybe an offer or new opportunity that awaits me. I then check all my socials to see if I may have messages that demand my response and later on I’d get on Twitter and greet my followers by saying “Grand rising Brownies”. I don’t make music every single day, I am firm believer that one must spend time away from they’d craft doing other things to gain new experiences and inspirations.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
My other hobbies are networking, walking, photography, editing and designing etc.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
No, I don’t sing in the shower haha.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to travel on tour, connect with more fans and hopefully get signed to major record label this way I will have global exposure, reach a wider audience and be more successful.
