The Divisions - “Middle Ground”
The Divisions are a London-based indie rock band, formed in 2019. Their sound is a blend of 90s Britpop, Grunge, and early 2000s indie rock influences. With a fresh sound that brings to the fore introspective and deep songwriting with ferocious melodies, they present their latest single, “Middle Ground” — a fusion of high-energy electric guitars, expressive, fast drumming, and elegant vocal delivery that leaves a mark, and leaves a mark fast. All throughout the song, the droning electric lead guitars leave a lasting impression, while the energy gently shifts between sober and outright electric — making for a winner of a listen. Take a listen to the track here!
alright(okay) - “Elevator Etiquette”
Liverpool slacker punks Alright (Okay) fuse distorted guitars and spoken word vocals, delivering a scrappy alt-rock sound that brings the chugging, and the dramatism — and on their latest single, “Elevator Etiquette”, they get off to gentle starts with their electrics… until the basses and the drums arrive to settle the listener into a gentle swaying rhythm. Punctuated beautifully by the gruff vocals and the chugging guitars, there’s quite something about the way that this song builds its energy, and we’re here to appreciate! From the gentle sections that precede the choruses with the clean singing to the elegant transitions into the higher energy parts of the song, every bit stands to impress, and all in all, it’s a track you wouldn’t want to miss. The Suburbs - “Buckle My Head”
The Suburbs, formed in 1977 by vocalist/keyboardist Chan Poling and guitarist Blaine John "Beej" Chaney, were a driving force in the Minneapolis music scene of the 1980s — and in the 21st century, with a refreshed sound, they bring their latest single, “Buckle My Head” — a true driver’s song, this. From the dramatic crescendos to the intense drum grooves to the bass-playing, every bit of this song chugs along brilliantly, to the tick of the clock — while taking your head bobbing with it. The vocal performance is energetic with the band’s signature flair, and maintains excellent balance throughout. All in all, a winner of a track! Check it out here:
