Sevren - “Chronologically 17”

SEVREN is a dynamic artist who merges the depth of singer-songwriter introspection with the energetic beats of soft rock and synth-pop. With numerous accolades to her name as well as a list of well-received releases, she brings her latest track, “Chronologically 17”, a delightful fusion of synth pop and retro-wave synth-heavy music. Adopting a ‘bubblegum pop’ sound throughout the track, the synths hold the track in a state of delightful ecstasy with their high registers, and great sound design. The vocal performance and the emotive lyricism tell a story compelling, while the choruses are filled with old-world charm from the Roland basses, making for an entertaining listen. Adam + Attack By Fire - “Perennial Invader”

Adam is a versatile songwriter, rocker, and producer whose music channels iconic sounds with a proto-punk and glam rock edge. His work has drawn comparisons to legendary British rockers like T. Rex, The Kinks, David Bowie, and many more — and on his latest track, “Perennial Invader”, he brings a slow-paced ballad for us with his bright, expressive pianos and soulful, minimalistically elegant singing. The layers in the track come together rather beautifully indeed with the drum machines providing the pulse to the music, while the mixing wraps things up beautifully. Bunch of Ace is a band formed by twin sisters Alandra and Alessja, who began writing songs at 13 and made their stage debut at 14. Let their age not fool you, however — this is a powerful duo bringing soulful music on their latest single, “Apple Tree” — a charming, delightfully retro 90s sounding track with everything great about that era packaged for 2024; from the crisp, clear acoustic guitars to the swells in the drumming, every bit of this track is a beautifully packaged listen; be it the emotive verses or the energetic choruses, this track has it all. The production is the easy highlight of this track, compounded by the vocal performance with all its flair. Check out the track here!

Isabel Maria - “At Least We Don’t Have Kids”

Isabel Maria is a Sunderland-based singer-songwriter known for her witty indie folk-pop ballads that tackle themes of mental health, human relationships, and social injustices. Often put on the same map as Phoebe Bridgers, she brings her latest single, “At Least We Don’t Have Kids”, a soulful pop ballads that really show off Isabel’s strengths as a songwriter. The song has this delightfully slow-paced aura to it, all through to the elegant synth-pop chorus that, with its rumbling bass line and her sky-high singing that still retains intimacy and gentleness, makes for an excellently put-together listen.
