Her lyricism shines with its depth and relatability while the mix and master serve up just the perfect serving of energy injected in the most tasteful of manners. Bunch of Ace - “Everyday”
Bunch of Ace is a band formed by twins Alandra and Alessja, who wrote their first song at the age of 13 and made their stage debut at 14 — and on their latest single, “Everyday”, they present a gentle, wafting sound that’s dotted by cinematic pianos and strummed acoustic guitars that do no injustice to transporting the listener away to a world ethereal — and when the saxophone pre-chorus hits, the energy dynamic settles quite brilliantly into a well-polished, supremely well-executed sound. Carmen Braden, an emerging force in new music from Yellowknife, NWT, is celebrated in the music space for her eclectic fusions of electronic music with easy-listen pop mixed with great drum chops; and on her latest single, “Voice In The Dark”, she meanders effortlessly through modal changes and key switches, all while bringing a very high-energy drum performance that infuses just the right amounts of life into the ensemble; as the rhythms come alive, the breathy, whispered-almost vocals come right with, with marimbas and synths to round out the production excellently.
