LITM Rock Picks This Week: Work In TV and more!

In this edition of LITM Rock Picks, we curate a mix of artists like Work In TV and more!

Work In TV - “The Good Life”

Sheffield's beloved indie-pop sextet Work In TV have captured hearts with their disco-driven rhythms, angular guitars, and soaring synths, belting out winner track after another; and on their latest, “The Good Life”, they bring an anthemic, scream-worthy track that’s punctuated with feel-good, positive optimism and sunny themes orchestrated by an alternative rock-grunge pop sound that works delightfully. Bring the fuzzy, warm synths and the screaming guitars into the mix, and you have an ensemble that’s varied, and keeps you on your toes from start to finish. All in all, a winner of a track! Hanemoon - “They Bring The War Back Home”

Hanemoon is the musical project of Hans Forster, joined by a rotating cast of friends. Known for his work with The Seaside Stars, Hans has also been part of Sealevel — and on their latest single, the bunch bring us “They Bring The War Back Home” — with elements of classic rock and blues, this track sets you into the rhythm and groove quite effortlessly, bringing you to be one with the music early on into the track — the moody, almost-whispered vocals in the verses add a touch of intimacy and closeness with the music, while the rest of the ensemble creates a velvety blanket of sound for you to partake of. Adam’5 - “i don’t know where i’m going but it can’t be as bad as where i am right now”

Adam’5 is a rising independent musician that loves experimenting with textures and synths, blending it with an indie rock sound that would remind one of the early 00s of pop; and on his latest single, “i don’t know where i’m going but it can’t be as bad as where i am right now” , he brings a very blacker-esque sound to the fore with his stonewalled drums, funky synths all over the mix, and rich vocal layers that speak to the avant-garde in this track — and the mix wraps things together neatly for your listening pleasure. All in all, a winner of a track! Take a listen to it here:

TruckerBomb - “Christmas Bush”

Troy Richardson, known for his witty and sharp songwriting, channels the gritty spirit of ’70s country and ’80s southern rock into TruckerBomb, blending alt-country with Americana and hard rock. On their latest track, “Christmas Bush”, they channel the spirit of Christmas as they craft a track to goose to this holiday season. With a steady mid tempo drum beat that keeps you company throughout the track, the vocals are really what stand out on this track — with their choir layers and the guitars in the background, the track has an engaging, well-rounded sound to it that you’re sure to find enjoyable. Palejoy - “I Bet Heaven Isn’t Real At All”

Aberdeen's Palejoy, a DIY emo trio from members of Broadsea and Alkanes, blends raw emotion, introspective lyrics, and heart-wrenching guitars, drawing influence from Microwave, Hot Mulligan, and Jimmy Eat World — and on their latest single, “I Bet Heaven Isn’t Real At All”, they bring a sombre grey sound to the fore, with their thrash guitars and grunge rock drumming. The experimentation in the mix is real, with the chorus section bringing a distinct Nevermind sound, while the guitars ring out bold and proud to really drive home the emo grunge sound that this track stands out with. All in all, a winner of a track! Check it out here:
