LITM Rock Picks This Week: The Only Objects and more!

In this edition of LITM Rock Picks, we curate a mix of artists like Ronnie Wilson and more!

Only Objects - “Access Will Be Retained”

Adelaide's The Only Objects dive deep into art-rock's vast soundscape, blending groove, dissonance, and pop hooks to craft a post-genre experience — and on their latest single, “Access Will Be Retained”, they bring forth a sound that’s gentle in its ways, but intense and hard-hitting in its execution. The vocals power the sing through, making it a grooving yet cathartic listen, especially in the choruses and the refrain sections, while the pianos and the drums bring the sound full circle with much aplomb. All in all, a winner of a track! Check it out here:

MayFall - “Fly Well”

MayFall, a fresh project from Niagara Falls, Canada, unites members from Stereo Sunrise, The Black Flies, and Marble Weed, delivering their debut single “Fly Well” — and on this track, they fuse elements of classic rock, pop, and indie elements to give the song a distinct sombre, sunset orange tone. The lyrics are introspective and delivered from the heart with a solid vocal performance, while the strumming of the guitars and the basses completes the ensemble. The track is kept chugging along smoothly by the rich, layered vocal layers and the drumming performance, making this song an entertaining listen. Take a listen to it here!

Mobley - “Y’r Ghost”

Acclaimed indie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mobley returns with the rhapsodic single "Y'r Ghost" — and true to his signature sound with psychedelic, experimental songwriting, he delivers on this track; be it the dreamy, lo-fi guitars in the background or the rich melodic writing of this track, it has all the elements of a charter from the get-go. The sectioning and the breakups of energy in the song make for a listen that’s constantly evolving, commanding your attention as your head bobs to the rhythm effortlessly; and there’s much to appreciate about this track! Mehetia - “Give It”

Mehetia is an alternative rock band born from the deep bond of five friends who poured four years into crafting music that reflects their shared journey — and on their latest single, “Give It”, they present a power-packed track, leveraging elements of funk and rock in the mix to deliver an energetic, spirited performance. Be it the brilliant vocals or the unique, standout bass playing, the foundations on which this track is built are solid; and when the choruses enter, the guitars play excellent support as this track melds itself into a repeat-worthy listen. Bring the vocals atop it, and you have a listen that does indeed check all boxes; listen to it here!
