The Lunar Keys - 88 Train
The Lunar Keys have created a wonderfully expressive piece of music with their latest release “88 Train”. Effortlessly blending sounds and styles quintessentially eighties their music flows dynamically without a dull moment through the song's playtime. The instrumentation on this piece and the mix perfectly complement each other with guitars with a warm and crisp sound and a baseline that thumps along authoritatively giving this song a thick and well-rounded sound. “88 Train” has a nostalgic vibe that makes you want to drop everything and check out all of The Lunar Keys's discography. This song was an absolute blast to listen to and you should check it out!
The Northern Light - Borrowed Time
The Northern Light have a bold and powerful sound on their latest track “Borrowed Time”. Opening on powerful chords and marching repeated measures on the drums the song immediately pulls you in right from its opening. The instrumentation as a whole is incredibly well crafted with growling riffs on distorted guitars complemented by wonderfully bright warm melodies and leads on clean-toned guitars, all tied together by a bassline that compliments the song so well it just sounds like one massive cohesive tone. “Borrowed Time” also has a heartfelt, introspective message that plays with your mind as much as it does with your ears. This band is incredibly talented and their music deserves your love and support!
Simon Andersson - Try
“Try” by Simon Andersson is upbeat and genre-defying. It's impossible to classify this song as it pushes the boundaries of both rock and pop music, blending the best of both worlds to give you an auditory experience like no other. The song has an uplifting, motivational message that will lift your spirits and the production of the melodies perfectly compliments it. A wonderful symphony of distinct motifs that work together with wonderful synergy, Simon’s music is artisanal and incredibly smooth flowing. This song will be a permanent fixture on my morning jams that I use to spruce me up for the day, and I’m sure it will hold a similar position in your music libraries!
Elephants and Stars - Bled out at the Scene
“Bled out at the Scene” by Elephants and Stars is a vibrant song with a style that is reminiscent and inspired by the style of rock legends like Bruce Springsteen. The song has an infectious hook with its chorus and the melodies will have an audience bumping their fist in the air, singing along to the song. Manfred Stittmann’s lyricism confronts head-on the nasty realities of a breakup and the songwriting will tug on your heartstrings. Elephants and Stars are an immensely talented line-up and I can’t wait to see what they put out next!
The Underbites - Good Girl
“Good Girl” by the Underbites carries an infectious, upbeat energy to it that you simply can't shake once you are done giving the song a listen. The brilliance of this song is in its open-ended lyrics, you aren’t told what the song is about but can arrive at interpret the lyrics through the lens of your perspective. Carrying a playful tone with the singing of the song will have you dancing and grooving while singing “Mama I’m a good girl” along to the song. The Underbites have mastered their energetic pop-punk sound and their music is well worth a listen, so go ahead and start with “Good Girl”
