Ringo Rabbit, Beanie Bison and Malcolm Mandrill might just have dropped their hardest track yet. “The Game of Cat And Mouse ” is a song that just oozes finesse and style throughout its runtime. THE HYBRIS have managed to have an incredibly fresh take on Hard Rock with ingots of metal sprinkled in.
THE HYBRIS want to influence change by commenting on the state of the world and following that theme “The Game Of Cat And Mouse” is a brief social commentary on the rising inequality and injustice that we see in the world today. Incredibly well-written lyrics that allegorise a fat cat as the quintessential greedy capitalist and extend that comparison to how the fight for freedom is not altogether dissimilar to a game of cat and mouse.
The musicianship on this song is parring excellence with a catchy chorus, deep thumping drums and energy-filled riffs. Carrying an incredibly revolutionary tone which is only further bolstered by the intensity of the vocals, this song makes you want to get up and go march the streets for change. The song also never sits still for a moment and is always firing on all cylinders
All these elements put together make this track the most poignant, reflective and revolutionary piece THE HYBRIS has ever put out. It certainly is my favourite. These three wannabe comic superheroes have their mission set to save the world and if they continue putting out music at this level of mastery then they are sure to leave their mark on the music industry and change the landscape of Punk Rock.
