Annie) Hey Tasha! Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Tasha) Hello, My name is Tasha Angela and I am 23 years old. I am a singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Ontario.
I love your new single, ‘Lost in Nostalgia’. What’s the story behind the song?
Thank you so much! ‘Lost in Nostalgia’ is about reminiscing on the past, and having wistful memories and desires to go back to a different period in my life. It's not about a particular moment but rather many moments wrapped into one.
The accompanying music video is beautiful. Did you have a clear vision in mind when planning it?
Yes, a friend and I discussed the feeling and what it evoked, which was a dreamy and dance-like feel. So we decided on roller-skating, which then developed into an actual storyline for the music video.
What’s been your favourite musical experience to date?
My favourite musical experience so far was creating my EP and this song. Having it as my first music video is extremely rewarding and it makes me feel like my creativity is taking me far.
Have you got any live shows coming up? Can we see expect you in the UK any time soon?
I hope so! I love it there even though I’ve only been once. We are planning a few special moments that we’re getting ready to announce soon.
If you could recommend one album for our readers to listen to, what would it be and why?
I would recommend the ‘Hidden Gems’ EP by Tasha Angela, of course! But also I've been really getting into different genres of music lately and Apollo XXI by Steve Lacy is a great body of work.
