Devoted is the alter ego of one Lemuel Dufez, erstwhile band member in Point Point and Alesia and a record label owner and co-producer to boot. ‘Santa Fe’ is his breakout song as a solo artist with UK vocalist Billionaire. Together the duo have crafted a moving little ode to devotion gone sour. Warm synth lines, subtle percussion and a dream-like tempo form the backdrop to a story that is essentially about love misplaced and romantic dreams arrested. It’s a powerful and unpretentious little number that succeeds because it encapsulates everything about being young and being foolish.
