Bred from the innards of Exxon Valdeze, a Brighton favourite from the notorious Hectors House Buzz Club scene. Beach Riot’s debut single is a maelstrom of fuzz drenched guitars. Produced by Steven Ansell from Blood Red Shoes, it’s no surprise that B.A.D. pushes all the pressure points for any Alt-Rock fan.
Aesthetically, Beach Riot have the similar blueprint to Valdeze – boisterous and disorderly guitar lines linger over a bone rattling rhythm section which captures Rory O’ Connor’s three-minute pop sensibility perfectly. An Insecticide-era Nirvana charm melds with a huge ‘verse chorus verse’ formula which would give Dinosaur Pile-Up future 'growing pains'. With their debut London show pencilled in for April 18th, expect more raucous and infectious tunes coming thick and fast.
