Interview by Chris Sharpe
Nice to meet Empathy Test. How long have you guys known each other and how long have you been a band?
We have known each other since we were two kids playing with Stars Wars figures in a quarry. We lost Boba Fett and then somehow found him again after the place was filled back in, or so the legend goes...We've been Empathy Test for about three years now.
Loving the artwork and the sci-fi theme, I'm a total fantasy geek myself (the sword bashing type, not Harry Potter), who made the artwork?
As we've just revealed, we both love sci-fi. The name Empathy Test comes from Blade Runner and the artwork is made by Adam, who produces the music AND does all our artwork. Just for the record, Isaac writes the songs and lyrics and basically manages us too – it's not all Adam! Isaac's the one doing this interview too, hence that caveat!
Where do you record your music, do you have a producer on board?
This is getting spooky now! As we just said, Adam is our in-house producer. We record everything in his bedroom in North London. We're pretty self-sufficient in that respect. The only thing we do need is some music videos, so if any film makers are reading this… get in touch!
We always ask this question. For acts coming to the capital or gigging in the UK in general, can you recommend any cool venues and promoters to work with?
We really like Mamaco; they really look after us. And Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and Sebright Arms are both great places to play for up and coming bands.
