If pandemic times is something that we would like to see behind us, on the other hand these were times in which a lot of talent came up whether in music or another expression of art. I was lucky enough to know a lot of artistic work that was “Covid-born” and I’m grateful for that (ok, now you are asking yourself why you should continue reading a review by a guy that literally is thanking “pandemic times”!).“Keys”, Rauste’s debut EP, is one of these cases and it all started on the lockdown, where every track is about connecting with a specific person that Rauste couldn't meet in that period. Rauste gives us two examples: «“KEY VI” is made by watching my sister dancing on the video she sent me. It was a way for me to connect to her and to get rid of her absence in this period where physical contact was not possible».

“Keys” is a 6 track EP and I honestly have difficulty in finding my favourite one. Listening to it puts me in a warm place where melancholia meets happiness, on which dropping tears makes me feel good. It makes me see the sounds and feel the colors, this is synesthesia and sensorial music from another dimension. One of the best ambient mini-albums that I’ve listened to this year so far. Solid, harmonious and consistent.
