Emily Manuel is an alt folk artist and singer-songwriter. Her style is a mystically bejeweled as she blends enchanting neo-classicals with immersive vocals and beguiling sound design. The artist has just released her EP called Live Forever. It’s a five track collection with each track unveiling the artist’s unique sonic imprints. A swish of melancholy is tempered by a poignant swash of hope and light. The rhythms are all set at the pace of life with golden awnings of instrumentation stringing them with meaning and movement.
The title track opens the EP with orchestral layers. Peeling violins are replicated and rolled in with undulating cello basses. Emily’s glassy vocals progress with ethereal sensibilities on the wings of elevating harmonies and expressive melodies. It has an incredibly powerful message, one that haunts the spaces between the melodies, unfurling like shadow ribbons that are continuously felt.
‘So Long’ sparkles with acoustic piano keys. The melodies create a sphere conducive to acoustic resonance. And in this atmosphere, the oozing vocals attain luminosity. The tone and temper of her voice and emotion is beautifully nuanced as she tackles the bluesy vocations of the soundscape. ‘Scrawl’ follows with a soft gentleness. It forms in slow motion, drawing out stray tendrils of melodies textured by cello, bagpipes, and piano. They shape the swaying vocals. A dazed eeriness and mystery plays out that completely absorbs the listener. It startles and stymes us as it nudges us into a deep consciousness.
‘When This Is Over’ is fathomed with glassy blues. With Emily’s vocal performance at its core, a Latin blues ensemble forms around it, dilating the emotional quotients of her tale. ‘Arms of Mine’ concludes the EP with a lighter disposition. Touched only by the delicate pain of nostalgia, it is composed with elating acoustics and vocals. It is relatively simple in terms of cerebral context and relates more to the heart.
This EP was first introduced by the artist with her debut release of ‘When This is Over’ in 2020. This collection is inspired, creative, and most of all, aligned to the fundamental fabrics of humanness. Listen Now!
