Though primarily a synth-led track, ‘Hand-Eye Coordination’ draws plenty of its sparkle from the analogue embellishments peppered throughout. While a series of gratifying electronic trills colour its early stages, an up-and-down-the-neck bass riff lends the groove, and it concludes with some gentle tinkering on a Rhodes piano, an instrument that never fails to please the ear.

The alias of Swedish artist Joakim Forsgren – who splits his time between Stockholm and New York – Autorhythm has produced a highly hypnotic slab of ambient electronica, with a slow synth-driven pulse forming an unhurried near-motoric rhythm that has momentum but is decidedly easy-going. ‘Hand-Eye Coordination’ feels shorter than its seven-minute runtime, and its ending is likely to jolt the listener out of their trance. But there’s always the repeat button…
