In this edition of LITM Pop Picks, we have Me & Melancholy and more!
Me & Melancholy - “3e Sexe”
Me & Melancholy is the solo project of Stockholm-based musician and producer Peter Ehrling, blending melancholic, synth-driven sounds influenced by 80s and 90s synthpop and new wave — and on their latest single, “3e Sexe”, they present a pure synthwave electro sound that grooves effortlessly to the arpeggiated basses down low. The old-world synths add more than an iota of charm and atmosphere to the track, as the vocals laid atop them impress with their clean, articulate delivery. The mix and master further serve to impress the listener with the wide, well-controlled mix, resulting in a charming track that’s sure to keep your attention from beginning to end. Andrea Carax is an Italian producer and label owner known for his collaborations with top artists and Grammy-winning songwriters, now releasing his very own latest single, “Good JuJu” — a trademark Italian house track akin to 90s Robert Miles with the twist of 21st century hip-hop and deep house production, this track takes groove and redefines it — from the lyrics to the deep, rumbling basses, this track screams charisma from beginning to end, and is not at all shy about it. The mix is balanced and hits deep with the percussion, really coming into its own come the buildups and the choruses that follow shortly thereafter. All in all, a powerful, compelling listen!
