LITM Pop Picks This Week, featuring JD Kelleher and more!

In this edition of LITM Pop Picks, we have JD Kelleher and more!

JD Kelleher - “Take The Money & Run”

JD Kelleher is a gay, non-binary Irish actor and singer/songwriter based in London, known for their Joy Division cover 'Love Will Tear Us Apart’, among a growing number of well-crafted singles that are sure to charm your heart — and today, on their latest single, “Take The Money & Run”, they take us on a positive, optimistic journey that’s all about living in the moment and owning one’s time. The ensemble plays excellent support throughout the track as the melodies are well-crafted with the guitars and the synths in the background, while the vocals charm with their layered harmonies and clean, beautiful execution. All in all, a winner! Take a listen to the track here:

SANGA TOTO - “Be The One”

Sanga Toto's musical journey stems from his childhood love for R&B, Pop, Funk, and Soul, inspired by legends like Michael Jackson, Donny Hathaway, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, and Prince — and bringing those diverse influences together is his latest single, “Be The One” — a groovy, funky synth-pop number that nails it in the quirkiness department — be it the funky bass lines or the high, soulful singing, every element of this track is distinctive, and has a flavourful signature that makes it a delicious listen from start to finish. The energy wafts up and down rather effortlessly with the rest of the ensemble in tow with the synth brasses and the pads, while the vocals are served with a healthy dollop of reverb to keep things wide and open. Approaching Jupiter - “One Day”

Approaching Jupiter (AJ) is the solo music project of Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Brenden Hiebert, known for his powerful vocals, anthemic guitar-driven choruses, and on his latest single, “One Day”, he crafts an easygoing, soulful number that speaks of themes like hope and looking up constantly — the optimism and the sunny themes of the track shine beautifully in the vocal presentation, and the minimalistic production style of the track, mirroring the vocals quite nicely. The guitars and the drums keep the song chugging along quite nicely, while the mix and master rounds things and brings them full circle rather elegantly. All in all, a track you wouldn’t want to miss! Take a listen to the track here:

VLENT - “We Can Fly”

VLENT is a musical project that produces quite the signature blend of alt-pop, incorporating elements from the genres of soft rock, alternative, grunge, and blues, serving up their unique formula on their latest single, “We Can Fly” — a track that takes it slow, and easy, from beginning to end — while the guitars lay a lush carpet of sound down in the background. The vocals with their long drawn harmonies add a rich atmosphere to the track, while the piano sections and the gentle swells of energy made available by the pads and reverbs make this track a beautiful listen.
