While his voice weaves together a beautiful story with the lyrics and the clean, melodious singing, the ensemble charms the listener with the calm, serene acoustic guitars, and the drums play excellent support as they envelop you in a curtain of warmth — overall, a very well rounded great listen! Doctor Noize, a Stanford-educated father and multifaceted artist, is a chart-topping recording artist, commissioned composer and studio owner that has quite the voice when it comes to a soft-natured, well-executed pop sound; and on his latest single, “I’m Listening”, he brings his somber pianos, and his powerful singing together to weave intricate metaphors in his lyrics. The instrumentation adds just the perfect amount of flair, while his excellent vocal layers and harmonies bring depth and more meaning to the song, only to be further charming with the young child singing in the latter parts of the track. Icarus Phoenix - “Doctor! Doctor!”
Icarus Phoenix, hailing from Baltimore, MD, is an indie band consisting of four people, making waves with their indie pop sound, and their richly metaphorical songwriting; and on their latest track, “Doctor! Doctor!”, they bring a starlit, warm sound with their electric guitars and choir layers; while the vocals bring a depth and soul to the performance, they are further elevated by the rich storytelling, and the percussion keeps things chugging along quite smoothly, making light work of making the listener sit on the magic carpet as they’re made to levitate through the sound into the night; and with a heartfelt and profound sound, this track is a winner for sure.
