LITM Rock Picks This Week: The Search and more!

In this edition of LITM Rock Picks, we curate a mix of artists like The Search and more!

The Search - “Pick Me Up”

The Search is a Swedish indie rock band formed in Uppsala in 1999 under the name The Silverslut. They released six EPs before rebranding to The Search in 2004, coinciding with the release of their self-titled debut album. On their latest single, “Pick Me Up”, they bring a charming, soft-natured rock sound reminiscent of classic rock and 90s pop elements — be it the creative guitar mixing or the clean, soulful vocal delivery, the song impresses at every turn. Couple with this a mix and master that retains the charm of the instruments throughout, and you have yourself quite the winner! Take a listen to the track here:

Eddie Cohn - “Keep Them Away”

Eddie Cohn is a multifaceted indie-rock artist from Los Angeles, blending his musical talents with passions for podcasting, writing, and yoga, all while channeling the grunge spirit of the 90s — and on his latest single, “Keep Them Away”, he brings a thrashy, grunge rock sound that would remind one of the hits from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and many others — the drums drive the mix excellently, while there’s much to appreciate about the guitar work that gives this song an electric, uplifting energy that doesn’t fail to charm and get your head swaying from side to side. LightlongLife - “I Got Lost”

LightlongLife, the musical project of Alex Tsaga, blends rock, pop, and ethereal elements to deliver a powerful message of personal growth, transformation, and self-discovery — and on his latest single, “I Got Lost”, he blends post-rock elements with a peppy, uptempo sound to infuse your day with optimism and energy. The lyrics are deep and introspective, and are done justice to by the beautiful vocal performance, accompanied aptly by the synths in the background that lend the track a full-bodied, warm sound. Couple with this an awe-inspiring mix with loads of atmospheric elements, and you have yourself a winner — check out the track here!

Hey Look Listen - “Fill The Blanks”

Hey Look Listen is a trans indie alternative shoegaze musician based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Their music blends the dreamy, reverb-drenched elements of shoegaze music, with the jive and groove of alternative rock music; and on their latest single, “Fill The Blanks”, they bring their talents together excellently well to present a listening proposition that’s sure to keep you hooked from beginning to end. Be it the dreamy vocals, groovy, angry guitars or the emotive, engaging drumming, the ensemble moves forward as one team throughout, strapping you in for the ride. With a great song structure and overall elegant execution, this song is a must-no-miss — take a listen to the track here!

The Casbahs - “Roman Numerals”

THE CASBAHS, a County Durham indie rock band with a distinctive gritty edge, blend various guitar-based influences into their pop rock sound to present their latest single, “Roman Numerals” — a swinging, mid tempo rock ballad that gets you humming its melodies before you can admit it. With a solid vocal performance that is intimate yet at the same time powerful, gentle acoustic guitars that make you sway ever so gently to the rhythm, or the drumming that dallies beautifully with the rest of the ensemble, every nook and cranny of this track is thought-provoking, and superbly executed.
