Welcome to a mesmerising world of slow, bluesy rock and roll from the house of Exceptional Failures, called "Too Long". This song takes you on a swing-laden, laid-back journey through melodies and harmonies complemented beautifully by the old-school crunchy, almost Cream-like guitars, as they ascend and descend through scales with effortless grace; the drumming with its plentiful ghost notes and tasteful fills are also aspects to look out for. Grace Angelique - Bird Of Prey
Grace Angelique brings us a fun, high-energy track in the form of “Bird Of Prey”, filled with infectious grooves and melodies that grip you from the start. Grace's voice shines through with its layering and creative, almost saturated-feel processing. The effortless melodic transition towards the bridge section was an easy standout here, which found itself rather expertly executed. The track is mixed wide and confident, with just enough warmth to sound perfect. As the track draws to a close, we're reaching for the repeat button, only to go through this adrenaline-filled rollercoaster once more, and again. Check out the track here!
Yonder - Fading Out
There is much to love about "Fading Out", by YONDER, right from its old-world, back-to-basics synth intro, to its wafty, airy vocals that sound like they're floating through the soundscapes, as you too follow the rhythm not long after. As we settle into the chorus, the drumming finds itself engaging and groovy, with the high vocal notes being another standout on this track. The dynamics in this track are appreciably great, with seamless transitions between the high-energy sections, while still retaining tons of interest in the sparser sections of the track. NOTNORTH - Gatorade Love
Crank up the energy and liveliness to an eleven on "Gatorade Love", with its electric and absolutely ferocious intro, followed soon after by an absolutely delightful palm-muted rhythm section in the verses; building in a gradual crescendo to the ringing guitars in the choruses, with the vocals holding steady ship with the drumming, as they journey through the track. The vibe is haunting and etches into memory easily, and the result here is expertly produced, with a great blend of older rock and modern elements, resulting in quite an enjoyable listen. Night Hymns - Drink To Me
Settle into the starlit skies with this emotive, engaging ballad number from Night Hymns, christened "Drink To Me"; from the delicious lead guitar part right at the intro, to the zesty, fresh drumming in the verses, this track truly leaves no stone unturned; with a distinctly Panic! At The Disco vibe with its aura of shrouded mystery, the instruments easily carry this number to a high standing. There is much to appreciate about the singing here, too, with excellent control on the melodies, as the guitars dabble in counter-melodies, making this an excellent listen. Check out the track here!
