Down The Lees - Douse

“Douse”, by Down The Lees, is the kind of track that screams post-rock from the moment you kick on the speakers; with its eclectic riffs, and haunting vocals courtesy of Laura Lee Schultz, who is the judge, the jury, and the executioner on this song. There’s much to appreciate about this track ranging from the infectious, headbang-worthy chorus, to the unconventional song structure that jumps at you in the best ways possible. The guitars are just the icing on the cake, to the base laid by the drumming; and overall, it is as fantastic as dessert gets; check out the track here!

Calum Ingram - Cup of Urafain

Calum Ingram brings us an introspective number in the form of “Cup Of Urafain”; filled with balladlike vocals and soft strummed riffs in the intro, the stage is set for the deeply poignant instrumentation, further enhanced by the poetry on the lyrics, as one is left wondering of the true meaning of anything as they listen to this song. The strings in the background move the listener with emotion, and the layering in the vocals is another great touch. There’s a certain depth to the emotions portrayed excellently well by this song that makes one come back to this song time and again.

Mark Newman - Fill Up My Tank

“Fill Up My Tank” by Mark Newman brings the evergreen twang of country music to the world of rock; right from the guitars and their signature Americana bends and the clear, melodious singing courtesy of Mark himself; there’s a strong foundation that this track lays, and lays supremely well, for all the elements to build up on top of. The acoustic solo at the end is filled with slides and the percussion makes you sway your head to the rhythm of the music, creating an immensely memorable listening experience, brought together by solid production and mixing. Mercurius - Streetlights

“Streetlights” by Mercurius brings us wistful, positive vibes with the dreamy tones, the swimming guitars, all held together by the percussion that keeps things chugging along to the beat. The combination of male and female vocalists here works quite nicely, and laid on top is a lead guitar part that finishes things quite amazingly off. As we journey through the song, the lead turns gradually into a solo, supported by the vocalists in the background; and as the song draws to a close, we’re left wanting for more, yet satisfied within. Thanks Light… - Feel My Love

“Feel My Love”, by Thanks Light… is an immediate bop with its fuzzy, distorted guitars that make for great texture, as well as the phased-out drums that add a layer of tasteful complexity to the track. The vocal layering also is of prominence here, with themes that delve into introspection and deep thought intertwined with energy dynamics that keep one continually engaged with the solos, the melodies and countermelodies; and this is all brought together excellently by a mix that makes smart and full use of every opportunity to make the song shine.
