Amber and the Embers-It’s Christmas Time

We wanted spirit during the festive season, and Amber and the Embers seem to have brought it. With a side of eggnog. The latest single called It’s Christmas Time, and there are folk tunes to go around! The four-piece funk rock band from Liverpool have connected with what makes people connect during this season and brought it out in this light, fun performance. It’s Christmas Time is the next release after their EP Cash is King, and we’re steering away from their unique style. The uke and the soft percussion really keep the rhythm to be a natural, warm course of a post-feast dessert in every way. Listen to it here:

Tom Minor-It’s Easy to Play Hearts

You don’t need another groove partner when you have Tom Minor. His inspirations are unique, and his music even more. He uses soothing layers of guitar, synth and an upbeat percussion to pen a poetic track. It is inviting, exciting and is a statement of love in the world. With Tom Minor’s unique writing style, there is always a surprise packed away somewhere. He strips back the instrumentals in moments, brings it back in a lush cascade. The chord progressions ring out like Christmas bells, putting a smile for good cheer:

Haag-Haag the Huge

Look, I’m a fan of a simple groove. For this track, the Iranian band seem to have chosen a thick, heavy bassline and a strut for the tempo. Like a Jack White track, the bluesy riff is what dominates the essence of the song. Haag comes in like a white whale, with a legacy that will precede them forever. They take on the challenge with panache, as the lead single from their latest EP. Bringing on some edge with their collection-this band bring their own traditional understanding with soothing tunes imbibed. Check out their unique puzzle of a song here for your indie rock accents for the week!:

Erro-Strawberry Moon

When the melting melodies drip down your ear canal to your soul, you’ll swell with pride at Erro. The female fronted band from Pittsburgh has created a surreal number with Strawberry Moon. The choice of melodies makes for an eclectic blend of feel and technical mastery. Choice of percussion will leave you on the crest of a tide. The song has a fantastic build, and it is inspiring to see every member add that special something to make the song a reality. It is a soulful number that has turned out to be some of the band’s best work to date. Check out the whole album on their Spotify and their title track here:

Erik Hansen-Never Alone

Kickass rock anthems haven’t been around for a long time. Erik Hansen is the man who will change it all. Writing rock with a purpose with 3 thematic albums as a solo project, he seems to have reached out to a deeper sense of meaning. From mastering tone and drive to giving us rhythm sections that will inspire, Erik is able to handle it all. It becomes a song about solidarity-about having a powerful reckoning force by your side while still having the chugging, anthemic rock spirit which the retro bands brought about. From Fallen Angels to his own sound, here is a treat to be found:
