LITM Rock Picks This Week: Ronnie Wilson and more!

In this edition of LITM Rock Picks, we curate a mix of artists like Ronnie Wilson and more!

Ronnie Wilson - “Girl With The Vacant Eyes”

Originally from Surrey and now based in Lancashire, UK, Ronnie Wilson is an alt-rock artist and mental health advocate whose raw fusion of rap and rock channels his personal battles with anxiety, depression, and self-harm into powerful, resonant music — and on his latest single, “Girl With The Vacant Eyes”, he brings a soulful, poignant alt rock track that’s steeped in melancholic melodies and a steady flow of energy that builds beautifully from the verse to the chorus; and atop this, Ronnie’s storytelling stands out as rich, detailed, and rewarding. All in all, a winner of a track! Take a listen to the track here:

Expanding Water - “Redemption Liar”

eXpAnDiNg wAtEr is a solo project by Hanover-based composer Joerg Wallach, known for his eclectic blend of electronic, rock, and experimental music. Drawing on influences from progressive rock bands like Marillion and Genesis, as well as grunge and electronic artists, Wallach creates atmospheric rock music that impresses — and on his latest track, “Redemption Liar”, he brings a slow-paced, tense listen that would harken one back to the golden sound of Plini; the whole track has a strong progressive electronic sound to it, laid beautifully atop a foundation of rock — and it all pays off beautifully. The layering of the lead guitars makes for the slick atmosphere that sets the stage for the vocals to shine — and it’s an exceptionally rewarding track to listen to. Check it out here!

All The Nines - “Black Kettle”

All The Nines is a dynamic math rock band from Hartlepool, UK, known for their intricate and high-energy sound. Striking the balance between grunge, nu metal, and progressive rock, they present their latest track, “Black Kettle” — a track that’s punctuated with subtle sound design, meter changes, and polyrhythms to tickle the prog metal fan in you. The guitars bear a dark, ominous sound, while the vocals impress with their clean, articulate delivery — with an innovative sound and even better melodic writing, this is one of those tracks that leaves a lasting impression — and before you know it, you’re hankering for the repeat button. Arms & Hearts - “The Future Is Not Bright”

Arms & Hearts, founded by Manchester-based musician Steven Millar in 2015, began as an acoustic project — and since then, they’ve been hard at work, putting out a brand of indie rock music that has a sunny ombre to it — on their latest single, “The Future Is Not Bright”, they bring us a collection of influences that paint the canvas in a sunset light. The vocals are layered and well-presented, while the basses and the drumming keep the pulse to the track, helping it chug gently on as the various influences and sounds come together quite brilliantly on this track. This is one track you wouldn’t want to miss! Check it out here:

Dani Hagan - “Like That”

Dani Hagan, originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota, and now based in Los Angeles, is crafting her own unique blend of soulful rock — blending her strengths as a singer and songwriter with the harder edged sound of rock, she brings a firework in the guise of her latest single, “Like That” — armed with warm guitars and rewarding riffage from right the very start, Dani’s vocals sit perfectly in the mix amongst the drumming and the bass-playing, giving this track a groove that’s brilliantly executed. The hooks explode in energy in all the right ways, as the verses gently allude to the lyrical talents in Dani’s arsenal. All in all, a winner of a track! Check it out here:
