Mortal Prophets - Born Under a Bad Sign
“Born Under a Bad Sign” continues Mortal Prophets' classic genre-bending sound with its tone and sound. Excessively atmospheric the song has a frantic atmosphere to it and features all the hallmarks Beckmann has demonstrated with his music with atypical instrumentation, loose structure and dream-like singing. This song is the more traditional of the two Mortal Prophets songs I’ve reviewed for this blog with its recognisable presence of thumping bass and drums, but that is really not saying much to describe this music. Beckmann doesn’t craft simple music, he crafts bone-chilling experiences that speak to your soul, and you must check them out!
Seven Degrees From Center - At Last a Path
Seven Degrees From Centre have crafted a fiery track with their latest release “At Last a Path”. Opening on one of the most satisfying guitar riffs I’ve heard, my expectations for the rest of the song were set pretty high and Seven Degrees From Centre delivered. The entire song is an energy-inducing experience that gives your soul a cathartic release. Seven Degrees From Center have a unique and potent sound that any hard rock fan will appreciate and “At Last a Path” through its various motions and motifs delivers a brilliant ride that holds your attention through its entire runtime!
Roxx Revolt & The Velvets - King Revolt
Roxx Revolt is here to make a statement with her latest track “King Revolt”. With a style that’s very evocative of the sounds of late 80s pop-rock icons such as Joan Jett this song carries some nostalgic charm to it as well. This outfit also effortlessly flaunts its technical mastery with addictive riffs and an airtight production this track, you are left with an infectious earworm that will bruise your replay button. If you are left with one message by the end of your first listen of “King Revolt”, it's that Roxx Revolt is truly back(hey) and I can’t wait to hear what they put out next!
John Vento - She Drove Me To The Poor House
John Vento’s newest release “She Drove Me To The Poor House” is a fun upbeat rock track that will bring a smile across your face. The song has a charming energy with its breezy lyrics and easygoing sound that maintains its tone throughout the song. John Vento also brings contagious energy with his singing which only gets exemplified by the duet section that closes out this song. The instrumentation is crisp and massive. If you enjoy Country styled music with elements of Blues and a subtle modern twist to it then this is definitely a song you’d enjoy!
Matthew and the Arrogant Sea - Targets
Matthew and the Arrogant Sea’s latest single “Targets” is distinct in its sound and has a charismatic vibe surrounding it. The song heavily features acoustic instrumentation that builds upon itself until it delivers straight euphoria to you as you listen to it. Matthews's voice is powerful and magnificent in its control of the melodies, and the songwriting is heartfelt, you can tell how much soul was poured into this song. Blending folk and psychedelic rock experiences this song is a surefire classic for the summertime. So do yourself a favour and show Matthew and the Arrogant Sea some love and add their music to your playlists!
