Though it can seem contradictory to find the mind quietened by decibels, the debut single from Brighton-based Moon Panda offers just that sensation, being almost a literal interpretation of dream pop thanks to its languid rhythm, feathery guitar and singer Maddy Myers’ gentle exhalations. For all that, it’s a pop song with bite, detailing a desperate clinging to an unhealthy relationship, even while beguiling the listener with its soft hooks. Listen up and settle back; these are clamorous days and we could all use something to soothe.
