Starting with a sparse glitch pop intro, Jouska’s ‘And I’m Sorry’ is one of the more sonically interesting indie releases to come our way. A psychedelic production approach binds the organic and synthetic elements here. Pianos mingle with synths a la Dungen or Lonerism era Tame Impala as Marit Thorvik’s vocal tells a tender tale of regret. Towards the end its seemingly boundless expansiveness becomes claustrophobic, as a tumbledown sequence not unlike New York electronic virtuosos Ratatat threatens the aural space. Jouska’s ambitious glacial psychedelia is not to be missed.
Jouska's debut EP Frog Fiction is released on April 13th
