On ‘Sirens and Vices’ Jingo display their hard rocking nous with skilful aplomb. Loaded with giant riffs and unforgettable vocal hooks, it checks all the boxes for a huge pop song. At the tonal centre of it all is Katie Buckett, a singer who bleeds adrenal and emotive delivery in the vein of hard rock crooners like Patti Smith and Jack White, but with the occasional nod to more unconventional singers like Thom Yorke or Matt Bellamy. Altogether its an impressive sound, and it sounds like it relays the rock and roll baton from groups who were at the crest of the mid-noughties explosion.
Jingo will release Make Some Money, Buy Some Love on March 11
