Les Gordon’s first song since his Abyss EP starts with the melancholy sound of pattering water and some isolated synth chords that detune themselves. Soon we get his organic hallmarks swelling in, acoustic guitars and piano lines. ‘Carole’ can almost be described as less poppy than anything he’s done before, though to say Les Gordon sounds even remotely motivated by commercial pop would bely his output. Anyway, on this track the French enigma crafts something that's similar in feeling to Bonobo’s Black Sands but with shades of Debussy shining through.
